A new year 2012..

A very happy new year to all. Now is 2012. Well this year I will be full 21 years old. And my big task is definely be more adult, be more independent, always show love, and not least study well and get good result.

In year 2011, alot of happiness and sadness going on.. But I discovered more happiness I get in that year rather than sadness.

While hapineess is enough rather than sadness lah. Cos sadness is better to be forget and let the happiness go on in my life.. Hope everyone apply this too.. Just think positive and stay happy as life is still long and if it wont be long, always have the rush to do things you want to and dont regret anything okay ^,^

And for most wish the new year 2012 is better than 2011.

KL Trip 2011

Well Let do a short summary about my trip in KL.. My trip was frim 14 dec to 23 dec. Well sad to say being too late to go as I will miss Hebe music showcase and too early to go as I will miss Ella new year countdown in Sunway.

Day 1:

Wake up early as 6.30a.m. and only start to go Miri at 7.30a.m. cos my dad like to waste time. Reach Miri airport at 9a.m. Preharps I am late with the meeting with my friends. But nevermind. Once check in, we went to the waiting area and guess what who did we saw. A Master student from my department, Alex. Haha... He seem so suprise to c all of us in the airport too and we are ahead to the same destination. Reach LCCT at 12.20p.m. and then as usual collect luggage and go for sky bus. From LCCT to KL centre took around 1 hours plus. We all seperated in KL central. And there I meet a new friend, Corrie. She took us using MRT to the stop where we are meeting my friends' brother (short form HE). He start away bring us to Sunway Pyramid. We first had a late lunch as it is already 3 something and we didnt have any breakfast so very hungry. After lunch, teo meet up and bring me go around sunway pyramid while my three other friends went for skating. Being there do a bit of shopping and only around 10 something, HE came and take us to his place. AS the whole trip of KL will be staying in HIS place.

Day 2:

We went out of the house at 11 something. Eventhough we wake up late still we are tired and sleepy. First, HE bring us go 1 kopitam for a lunch den drop us at 1 Utama. I just bought a T-Shirt. We are there shopping shopping. Got tired, sit down and rest and den continue shopping until 7 p.m. plus. HE and HIS wife (short form SHE) bring us to a restaurant and call some famous dish and we eat together. After that, we went to pasar malam (Night market). It was a long long street until I didnt even manage to walk finish de. Even though these 2 days, I didnt really buy things but I already use around RM 200 plus cash and debit card RM 150 plus. We reach back and had a bath and took turn to pack for camp as 2moro very early morning we need to go already de.

Day 3:

We woke up at 4 somthing as before 7 we need to leave the house and go to MRT and take it to go the bus station. Unfortunally, we are quite blur with the route and so we make a wrong stop. So we come out and use rail which we have been waiting around half hour for it to come. Luckily we manage to go in time. Fhew... The journey from bus station to Segamat bus stop took around 3 hours. Maybe because I didnt sleep well for few days, I got a fever. Totally very hot de. Reach Segamat at 12p.m. Going here and there looking for Taxi and contact with the facilator our friends. Finally reach camp at 1.30p.m. Seem like we are late de but haha.. we are consider to be the 3rd gorup arrive and still got around 100 plus people havent arrive due to a delay. We had a lunch den have a free time. We went aorund and look at the room and den ice breaking and den dividing our group and break to let us go up and take shower. In my room, we have 14 people and about the toilet. We have 2 toilet and 3 shower room but a total of 28 people have to share and take turn. At night we have some talk and it only ends at 11p.m. we went back room and wait for turn to use the toilet. Cos I didnt really feel well, so I went to sleep first.

Day 4:

We three wake up at 4 something and take shower and den went back to sleep. 1 thingis that the water is freaking cold de. We finish at 5a.m. and ahead back to sleep until 6.45a.m. cos at 7a.m. we had to be at the respective place for morning exercise. After that, we have a breakfast and have some activities while waiting for the rain to stop for jungle tracking. We went out around 10 something and come back for lunch at 1 something den ahead back to the jungle at 2.30p.m. - 4p.m. the 1st part we went there are 3 checkpoint. 1 check point is to make ketupat. 2nd check point, team building. 3 check point go back to eat for lunch. 2nd part was raining slowly to heavy and so it was muddy and flooding in some places and we even have games under the rain. We come back at 5.30p.m. and everyone go shower de and meet for dinner at 7p.m. All i know is my nike shoes.. ALl fill with muddy and smelly... Den had a group activities until 11 something. Too tired went to sleep at 12 something a.m.

Day 5:

At 4 somthing I woke up cos my stomach had been in a pain and take a shower. my friends still on sleep. After I done showering, i woke them up and they have their shower. We cant go shower together as we need someone to bring us the cloth cos no place to hang de. After done went to sleep back and wake up at 6.45a.m. Cos of jungle tracking yesterday everyone was tired. Most of them cant wake up. I went to wake up all of thme. And morning exercise laughing yoga. It was short 30 min only and had a breakfast and go for a community service at the small town. It was so fun. We first arrive ar the dewan and had some speech den to our respective community service. My group will be going around nearby to take the rubbish. It was so fun.. While doing, there is a tauke wife come out of the kopitam and ask me wat are you doing de. They are so nice. we went around and everyone we saw we say hi and good morning. On the way back we drop by a temple in front of the dewan and have a look. den in froont of the dewan, our rotarian treat us with those kiuh kiuh and also discover the popo was going birthday 2moro and sing a song to her de. Ahead back we have a shower den preparation for the talent night. After our group perform, we have a super big performing competition with the rest of the team. And we end up partying. Tell you, that day night parting is worst than in club. Believe me.. =) We are all wake until 1 something cos is our last night..

Day 6:

LAst day of camp.. Cos of the partying everyone wake up late today. I personally wake up at 6 something cos alarm set wrongly. Haha.. So since early I went to shower de. Cos today no morning exercise.. And we only need to be there for breakfast at 8a.m. de. After breakfast, had a sharing time with everyone and den a short certificate ceremony. We have a short time of aking photo and hang out also. At the end we was in hurry for a lunch den went up the room clean up as we three are the last one to leave. But who noes we are the last to leave cos one of the rotarian bring us to the bus station. Haha.. so we are at the side, to say bye bye to everyone de. =) Den we went to bus stop, still early going around and had a bus back to KL reach bus stop at 7 somthing. We went nearby eat baru go back house de. Once back quickly bring smelly clothes to wash. only sleep at 1 something...

Day 7:

After camp too tired, wake up late de. At 1 something we went to eat first den ahead to genting de. OMG genting was nice and cold. First time in there so nice de. We check in hotel den went to shop de. exploring places. Sad to say that the Snow world is close.. we so wantt to go de. And I bought my first converse.. We shop around and went to ripley and den hang out until 1 something and ahead back hotel. Take shower den sleep. Haha they all are freezing with no idea de. They use scarf, glove and also even with long pants and jacket. I more geng. i sleep with short pants de and accessories jacket only.. =)

Day 8:

Today we wake up a 6a.m. and get ready to go down at 7a.m. because we want to make full use of the time de as today plan is going on playing outdoor de. We went to a restaurant eat dimsum while waiting de. Unfortunally too early de and they still making de. So next time no de. After eating we went around as the counter only open at 10a.m. Once we buy the ticket we went to outdoor and play. Well had only some ride and totally not fun loh. Just the coldness is fun only =) PLay until 1p.m. finish all lau de. Go around and go eat and wait for time until 5p.m. use taxi go down genting. Since so late sleep but so early wake up, everyone so tired but they two sleep already. I have to stay awake preharps i totally tired de. We stop at 1 U and wait for HER to come and take us. SHE take us and we 4 go eat steamboat. Steam boat is really a good time to have a good chit chat de. we finish at 9 and reach back at 10. Go bath pack again and sleep.

Day 9:

2day as usual wait until afternoon for HIM to come and take us and drop us. We first go eat bak kut teh and den ahead to mid valley. But becuase of too much traffic jam, we stop half way and use MRT. But we didnt go midvalley instead we go KL central shop there while waiting for Teo. Den we ahead to Petailing street. Shop around and eat around and buy some stuff. Of course not least today is "ko tong" so must eat "tang yuan".Den back to Midvalley with 3-4 plastic bag. We put all in locker and den explore around. And buy movie ticket and start shopping.. Until 10 all shop closed and we have a dinner den watch movie until 1 something. Only sleep at 3a.m.

Day 10:

While a last day in Kl. We suppose to get ready at 7 and use MRT and go bus station to airport. Unfortunally we all wake up so late today. Normally we take around 1 hours to do de we finish in 15 min. Really a rush and geng de. Haha.. Until HE have to take us personally to Bus stop. Reach airport den check luggage weight, check in and go eat breakfast. And off to departure hall.. And tat all for KL!! I will miss KL

*Lastly a really thanks to my two dear buddy. Thanks for taking care of me de.

And thanks to He and HER for their nice hospitality in thier house and all the treat u gave to us. Thanks to Rotary Miri so that I can finally go KL with my friends and went to camp for the first time. Thanks to Corrie and Teo for their free tour guide.Not least to thanks my parents for the nice pocket money..Thanks everyone!!

International RYLA '11

Well, The whole trip I went to Kl is just because of this camp. This camp happens on 16-19 december 2011 at FELCA, Segamat Johor. The below are basically my report I had sumbit to my rotary club of miri since we are all fully sponser de.

In my entire life of 20 years, it is my first time joining a camp and it was an international camp. I would like to say one word that is awesome. I am grateful that my first time of camp belongs to IRYLA.

Since I arrive at Segamat that afternoon, I have a fever. But I learnt not to give up. I still went around knowing some new friends from different places, races and culture and not least being fully participated in the activities. On the first night in the camp, we have some talk and in that talk, I learnt be self-motivate particularly to overcome my fear. And also, I learnt to share the love from my family to my friends. The most important thing I learnt from that night is from the speech of Mr. Chee Wah on travel the world. That is a lovely smile and the word “thank you” shows our own sincerity towards them even though they didn’t know you but willing to lend the hand to help out which applies to everyone in this world. Other than that, I learnt the new quotes “there is no failure but learning”.

After a night of sleep, my fever is getting better. However, today activities is jungle tracking and unluckily it is raining outside. I was particularly afraid that my fever will be worst and want to give up at a certain time. But after an encouragement from one of the Rotarians and the warmest care from all my friends, I manage to join up and still having fun under the rain. I didn’t regret making such a decision because I learnt to respect everyone. On the second part of the jungle tracking, it started to rain slowly and it will be a long journey to the checkpoint. So everyone was entertaining the others by singing songs. Because of the rain, the pathway was so muddy and so hard to walk specially on the part; we need to climb up a very slippery and muddy hill. All the team was helping each other to go up the hill and they didn’t care on whether we are from a different team. Our last game before we went back is the acid river. Even though I didn’t play the game because there were extra peoples in the group, I was responsible to help them carry their stuff and also to cheer the team. Through it, I really see and learnt about the leadership on how to solve the game and the teamwork so that everyone was able to reach the final line and success in the game. Most important comes again at the night, where we gather in our sub group and work out together, acting out the Rotary’s five core values which are leadership, integrity, diversity, fellowship and service and understand it more detail. To end the night, we have a power shower too where we deep through our heart and say out our real feeling towards each other. Of course, this activity is to learn how to look through my own good, know and improve myself.

Here comes the 3^rd day of the camp. Because yesterday everyone was so tired after jungle tracking plus they are all sleeping late, many of my roommates are still sleeping when it is almost timed. I make the effort to wake everyone up so they won’t be late for the morning exercise. Well, all my roommates manage to reach on time. Morning exercise for the today was laughing yoga. I never know there is such yoga and that laughing yoga that I had in the very early morning really brightens everyone day up. It was really amazing. After that, we head down to Jementah for the community service. My team was given the task to pick up the rubbish at nearby. Even though it was just a very short round outside, I and my team had pick up a total of 5 big plastic bag fill with rubbish. Here, I learnt that I should always take care of my own rubbish as there won’t be much people will do the action as we did or help us to throw rubbish in the proper place and for most is to take the responsible to do community service always. In the same time, I learnt about how to be kind and nice and make friends around no matter they are young or old.

Right after going back and had a bath, we have 2 hours game involve origami which is some sort of the application in the real life where we are needed to produce a product and then buy and trade. I totally have no idea with it because I was in the production part. My job is to learn the correct method to make the origami and share and teach back to my fellow friends. I grateful that my fellow friends understand the way I taught them. It was amazing to say that my team is the winner. This really reflects back the very good teamwork and leadership.

Next, we have a preparation of the talent night. And then, we have a run of our sub-group performance in our team. Even though my team don’t really do well, but we had tried our best to ahead of the limit. Once the winner of the team had been selected for the main competition with the other team, we have some discussion on the improvement to be made for our team so our team can win while waiting for the time. That night was so beautiful and we even had a big celebration since it was said that it was our last night in the camp.

The very last day of the camp was such a sad moment as we all have to leave and say bye-bye to all the friends which we may not know when again we will meet. After a breakfast, we have a sharing part from all people. Firstly, from our dear Rotarian which she is the one who is responsible and in charge of us in these 4 days of camp sharing the hardness she have while preparing for this camp. And more real story from the Cambodian. At that moment was really a very broken hearted time and many broke down to cry. On that day, only I know that such things that happen in the movie actually happen on real life and happened to one of us in this camp. Though those words are always in my heart but I never put on mind to carry out the action. From that moment onwards, I need to learn how to act it out to appreciate everything I had in my life. Not only that, to appreciate every things and every single person in this world. Because, we belongs to this world and we are one big happy family. To end up the whole camp, we have a short moment for giving and receiving our certificate and a big hug to everyone.

The most entertaining was our Mr. Commander Obiwan which every time we call him, we have to sing the ‘star wars’ theme song. Once we hear the whistle, we have to open up a way in the middle for him to go through. He likes to simple select a person and find a reason so that that person will become our slave with the funny extra accessories made by Rotarians. Most and not least, we suddenly have a group of Japanese having an umbrella dance which is actually a punishment for those who bring umbrella and use during the jungle tracking. We do really pity them but because of it, we have so much fun.

In IRYLA camp for 4 days is really the most meaningful of my life because I learnt a lot that cannot get from my normal school time. The big task for me after IRYLA is to share all the things I had learn in the camp to my friends, family and slowly towards the young generation as we are the one responsible to pass all this knowledge to them and let them pass on again to the future generation. Other than that, I had slowly seen my changes to be a better person through all the things I learnt and carry out.

Lastly I would like to take the full opportunity once again to take thanks the rotarians, facilitors, angels, rotaractors, interactors, and everyone who had make IRYLA such a success and not least to fully recommend IRYLA camp to all the youth out in this world. And not forgotten particularly for those who feel something is missing in your life and need motivate, this is totally a good opportunity. Because you can find all sort of moment like touching, sweet, happy, unforgettable, grateful, warm and many more moment in this camp. And in short, only you go to IRYLA camp then you can experience the feeling that is hard to describe.

Result so unbelievable..

So as i said before, my result cannot be view because of the saction de. I went to Miri on friday and it okay lau. Immediately I went home and saw my result.. OMG!! I cant belive it.. Why?? Being such a busy in a semester with study and especially with club, my overall result is still improving.. IMPROVING!! I though it will drop down plus this semester I would say I did not really well. After exam, I feel like hanging my self but miracle happened. Eventhough my CWA is still very low but I am trying to work hard to improve it every semester and I DID. I hope I can improve again next semester.. GAMBATEH ANGIE!!!

Now totally free and totally waiting on vacation lau =) Countdown 10 days!!

Miri Miri Miri only de..

Last week I went to Miri a total of 3 days de. Go and back.. Well as usual on sunday I went Miri to help see my popo as she will be going to Kk on monday and will only be back during new year de. So we just see and note down the things she asked us to do loh. Didnt went so much place de as due to long q de in immigration and custom. Since so many car go up to miri, we decide to go back early abit loh. Who noes we long q again. but malu lah my dad keep on potong potong line de. If not a total of 2-3 hours que de. Just to Miri custom and immigration only de.Reach home at around 9p.m. once enter the house put thing, go to the car take things in 2nd time. Toop!! No current de. We had to fill up tong by tong and boil hot water to bath de. After the 3 of us finish bath, toop current is back. Haiyo!!

On monday went down to Miri with my brother to take my popo to airport. We first go do some stuff that my parents asked to and den stay at popo's house and wait for her to take things. She very wasting time. Haiz.. we reach airport den wait for the que. Den wait for airasia help. Just exact time everything done lau, is boarding time de. Come back early around 3p.m. de. Not so long que okay de..

On Friday, went down miri with my cousin danny. I went down to do the stupid curtin stuff de. Who noes.. Such a heavy rain on that day de. We went curtin do those stuff and I went home take some stuff den lunch at MCD den to emart and back home. Reach brunei seria at 2p.m. Wau so early.. Go down at 10a.m. from home and back Seria by 2p.m.

1 week 3 days go up and down Miri. So tiring de.!! Well luckily de. Guess my next time going is for me to go on plane de =)

The first person discovered my maths talent

Recently, I found this in my mom's cupboard.

Well for ur information, I got this from my beloved maths teacher Mdm. Liew when I was in Primary 4 in St.Angela's School. I remember this is a reward for me because I got 100% for that test. If not mistaken, that test is about the perimeter and area. Eventhough I didnt write my unit fully or correctly, but still she gave me 100% and give me that small reward for me when I am in the class.

I totally thanks to her. Because of her teaching me in Primary 4, I totally dunno I had the talent or good in maths subject. With her as my first person discover my maths talent, I was able to do well and get a totally good result with maths subject in PCE , PMB , GCE O'Level , GCE A'Level or even now all the maths unit in Curtin. I do never disappointed with maths.Even those small small that related to calculation is said to be my favourite. =)

I forgotten when she had left the school but I know how is like maybe 10 years already. That y i totally dunno how is she now cos I guess even my school teachers dunno where she is.Well at least the others teacher, I saw them or stay on contact but she I totally had no idea. I really hope to see her or get contact with her back in someday.

Mana my Result??

Well as you know my result had been release around 1 week plus but still I havnt know about my result. It can all blame to Curtin dor.. Why?? Few days before my result release, they only mention that I had saction in Oasis. Cos with saction, It totally cnt view any result at all. So I email back to Curtin as call very expensive de. They reply me saying that I had incomplete document and asked me to call back to Curtin. I called and suprisingly Curtin Curtin Curtin.. They clearly said my incomplete document is that MY IC and MY BRITH CERT are not CERTIFIED. Isnt it totally useless?? Why do we need to certified all those rubbish above.?? So no choice cant view result until I submit all those back to Curtin. But this need me to go Curtin once again, bring all the Original copy and give them to photocopy and certified baru I can know/view my result de..

So totally, the night when result is out.. All the my Curtin friend busy, panic on the result but I cant do anything but relax. There is totally no use for me to worried de. Cos It is Stupid!!

Holiday 2011

Well this holiday will be my very last time having a so called long 4 month break. BEcause after that, I need to go for attachment and year after that, had to start find work and start working de. So This holiday I very eng eng de.. My only job of the day is to take care of jingle, vacuum the house everyday, shower jingle, movie movie, eat eat and not least sleep sleep. Damn so eng de!!

But actually had been planning for my KL/JB trip on decemeber de. So very very excited de.. My first time of going holiday with my friends and my 1st time real time going to Kl to have fun de.!! YEAH!!

Last fews days in Miri

This time, I went back home so late de. Finish exam on wednesday but only go back brunei on Sunday de. Because i had a list of things to do before I went back for holiday..

And also...

Well, because i want to spent the very lasy few days with my buddy vaash.. In these 2 years, I was in Curtin. I sincerly thank to her. She helped me in or out of the house. Every single things... She was my very first friend in Curtin, My first housemate.. Because of her, i get to know alot of friends around. Thanks buddy... Hope you are doing well there and do take care. Always stay on contact ya!! Hope to c u in my Kl trip =)

Happy Hour part 2..

After the tiredness i had on the day before, i woke up around 12a.m. but still sleepy. I went out with vaashinni. Without a breakfast or lunch, we staright went to Boulavourd for a quick shopping until 3.30p.m. Basically I just becaome her body guard plus i totally too tired, so i just stay at one side and wait for her. Before we went back, we went to tapau sugarbun. OMG 4.30-5p.m. I only had my so called breakfast and lunch. Den around 5.30p.m. I left with my newsletter team to MCD for a treat. Well Hope they enjoy it. =) Until almost 7p.m. I went back home. Had a shower and off to JH place again for a quick discussion de. About rotaract stuff. I left at 10p.m. and went home.

At 10.15p.m. I went out again with the same gang as yesterday (the 5 of us) to Merdeka mall and watch a movie name Real Steel at around 11.35p.m. Because that day is one of them birthday, so I treat him to watch. The movie was super nice and ends at 1.30p.m. den we ahead to supper at one of the malay shop and only reach home at 3a.m and went to sleep straight away. I conclude our happy hour here. From yesterday wed 3p.m until 2day friday 3am. I am dying already lah!!

Happy Hours part 1..

Well, Happy hours here meaning having a celebration relaxing after exam. Our exam finish at 3pm 4/11/11. Den we use around 15 mins to come out of the exam hall and then another 15 min for me to jumpa my lecturer. Den we went straight to Desert Delight to farewell with Wilson. But before that, I went back and get my camera. But still we are still the 1 group to reach first. We first went to call some desert while waiting for others to come. We really paiseh because he treat us. Thanks Wilson.. hope you will do well in Perth and dont forget to help us too in Miri ya =)

Next we ahead to Siamese Restaurant. On the way there, we keep on talking about cold jokes de. Omg I tak tahan de. We drop 2 of them first, den ahead to buy cake. Another big business. Haiyo had been busying for exam and now after exam still have this big business de. Well, everyday almost, instead of study, half of my time is with mian mian planning de. haha.. Some got suprised but some didnt. Anyway I totally give up already cos i am too tired lau de.

Big Moody!!

Since the sem 1 holiday, we were told that Rotary had a international camp in Johor segamat. Previously, I had comfirmed I was unable to join because I pretty sure my mom particularly wont allow de. but soon i found my buddy, xiao xiao ling and wan ching going. So now we three become the three leg. Taking flight together, stay together , play together and enjoy together. After days of days of checking finally we found a day of 14/12 morning and back on 23/12 afternoon with cheap ticket and exactly 3 cheap ticket left. If not the back ticket will be almost 3x the promo price. While on booking, I came across all the booming from my mom and finally, in that midnight, I had given up and conclude that I wont be going cos no more cheap ticket lau.

After a revive of Wan ching checking, the 1 cheap ticket suddenly reappear back and we quickly check and book. I really thank to Wanching for all the help she had. My life safer.. That day was my worst day. I had been on a sad and bad mood while eventually the next day, I am having exam.

Right after that around, the very last 2 week of teaching week, we had a probability of not getting fully sponser by rotary. OMG.. If not RM 400 for the camp, we must pay our self. But luckily, rotary keep promise. but we had to go across some interview. That interview resulted on our sponser fees for the camp. So we are given about 2 week on wed to go on interview. I choose 2nd week, same as my 4 other friend which is on the study week. Because eventually we are all busy on the last week of teaching cos of assignemnt and report.

We went for the interview on that study week wed night. We are all stay inside a room where they are all the miri rotary. They first had their own bual bual as some of the rotary havent arrive. Once arrive, we start our interview. Luckily they are friendly and we all interview together. I was the last one to be interview. The 5 of us went together whereas the 3 of them are chemical engineering. So unfortunally, 1st, 2nd and 3rd interview are my friend from chemical enginneering. Until a point at the 3rd interview, he conclude that we are all from chemical engineering. But not. they are so happy when hear me and xiao ling different course. =) Interview was nothing much. Just maybe 1 -2 ques only. So it end at before 9p.m. as we were all excused to leave early for our study. And the result of the interview will only know the next week of wednesday.

Since that was our exam week, we are all almost half worry and half studying. Until at night, I asked Jh and he said he is not free as he is busying preparing for exam. So I expect the next day night, we know about it. Who noes morning I open fb, a message just sent saying we are all fully sponser. YEAH!! So from Miri, 8 of us are going =) 3 of them are unknown. 5 of us are 3 girls and 2 guys. This really mke so big moody to me. But Eventually I happy everything went smoothly and I totally cant wait for the trip =)

Hello. My name is Angie Liong Ann Gie. Please do call me Angie. I’m a Malaysian who is presently living in Brunei. I am in my 2^nd year 2^nd semester Computer System Engineering Degree a.k.a. Electronic and Communication Engineering Degree. Since my coming to Curtin from year 2010 onwards, my course has received a new ‘face lift’.

When I finished my GCE A’Level in 2009, I was asked about what course I am interested to study for my Degree and where do I want to study it at. My first prediction was that I wouldn’t be studying in overseas due to the expensive course fees. So, I decided that it would best if I studied in one of the universities in Brunei and I will have a higher chance of becoming a Bruneian. The fees would be so much cheaper too. But the final decision was from my parents and they decided to send me to study in Curtin University Miri, Sarawak. I was quite shocked nevertheless I agreed to it. Mostly because I know how hard my parents are working to give me a good opportunity to study in an international university. I buckled up and promised not only them, but to myself too, to study well and get good results.

Then came another big headache which was; what type of engineering course I should enrol in? I had to think deeply about it for I did not want to do the same normal course as others. I wanted something different and interesting. When I asked most of the engineering students in Curtin about what courses they were taking and almost all answered Chemical, Mechanical, and Civil Construction. Thus solidifying the reason why I chose Electrical and Computer Engineering. Not just because it is an uncommon choice for a student but also this was kind of related to my dream i.e., to be a pilot for I’ve always longed to work in an airport. Perhaps it was just fate on my side.

In February 2010, I started my university life in Curtin, Miri. I had a really hard time finding friends at first because I am generally a quiet and shy person. And after the first week (Orientation week), my only close friend was my housemate, Vaashinni. But after several classes, I made more friends and even found a close course mate, Radika. We are always together in campus because both of us shared all the same units, same classes and even the same groups. Starting from the 2^nd year, I ended up befriending everyone in my class which was unexpected for me but very delightful though. We always helped each other out and love to hang out together. I have so much fun working together with my friends particularly when I’m in ME 102 lab which has now become our ‘own’ lab because we are always there even when we don’t have class. I’ve also become active in clubs as I am the secretary of Rotaract and I participate in all the events of Rotaract Club and I’m also the head of this ECE newsletter team. These commitments are making me so busy until I hardly have time for rest. Yet I still enjoy every bit of my life in Curtin. My most unforgettable experience I’ve had in Curtin so far is when my friends threw me a surprise party. It was my first time celebrating my birthday from home and I felt all alone. The surprise party was so sudden and sweet that at that moment I knew I had found my true friends in Curtin.

By being here for 2 years, I can clearly notice the difference between a university and secondary student. The most obvious one being that we are no longer spoon fed by lecturers. We are now expected to be independent which is unlike secondary school where the teacher helps us step by step. And that’s something I’ve come to appreciate. I’m more independent now, not just educationally but also in life. I can do so many things without depending on anyone and that by itself has made me more matured. I guess life is a never ending learning curve.

In conclusion, being a major in Electrical and Computer Engineering Degree is quite good and I surely recommend it. Think of it this way; At least as engineers we don’t need to ‘melt’ under the sun like Civil Construction Engineers, or do risky experiments and smell potentially life-threatening poisonous gases like Chemical Engineers or getting our hands dirty from servicing cars and motors like Mechanical Engineers. We can just relax, sit down on a big comfy chair in an air-conditioned room and get clicking on our computer keyboard. So listen up foundations students, 1^st year students and other potential Curtin students; enrol for Electrical and Computer Engineering Degree and join the fun with us!

This semester year 2 2nd semester of Computer system engineering was my busiest semester of all. Not only, I had to study and do my assignment. I am also very active in 2 club. Being a secretary of Rotaract club of Curtin and also a head of newletter of IEEE Student branch. Not only that, Joining almost all of the event is such a tiring day of all. Haha Not even had time to come back brunei in the weekend. I not sure whether my result will drop because of that or just because of the toughness in this semester unit. I hope not..

Anyway.. Although ppl keep see me busy around the campus like hell, but I do enjoy so much this semester. Rotaract Club.. eventhough we only had a bod memeber of 15 including me but I do enjoy working with them because they are mostly my close friend in my 1st year of enginneering in curtin. Well since only because of this club, we are back to be close again. That y I am happy about it. I really had fun. Thanks guys and gals.

And IEEE Student branch. IEEE is actually belongs and under my department of electrical and computer. And it is a world wide institusi and great that curtin had 1 too. Because the president and some of the committee are from my class, they drag us to being a committee of IEEE. And soon I had no idea, being a new person, they make me as the head. Which I feel a bit stress as it is under department and I eventually had to manage my team well. Erm.. I grateful that all the committee help me out and I manage to publish a newsletter this semester. Thanks to all my newsletter member and also all the IEEE committe for your help. Btw I even wrote an article. I will post it in the next post. And now I am also so called head of newletter team again next year.

So guess I will be the same busiest again next semester with Rotaract and also IEEE.

Well now in term of study. It consider the hardest semester of all on my 4 semester in curtin so far. And as usual this semester again 5 unit. All are okay because I had a group of genius and I work with them well for all of it. There is 1 unit assignment, I will never forget. An assignment that is given 1 semester /12 week to do and infact, I and so called we are all OT to work on this assignemnet which we had to figure out the requirement, develop code and also write a report of 30 pages. Cos we totally dnt know what to do and leave until the very last week / 5days to do. I grateful, we manage to do and finish and submit on time. The last day 2 days and 1 night really my disaster. But luckily the last day, there is no class and also after that is our study week. Well at least we can rest in the weekend and start study in so called study week. Thanks for all the help you had given to me. All my buddy classmate.. Hope you all do get a good result ya!!

KK - SZ - HK Trip 2011

On 2nd of July, We arrive to KK and will fly to shenzhen on the next day morning. Once arrive, my uncle bring us go jalan abit and den we went to eat seafood. The very interesting that we order. The Fresh raw oyster. HAvnet cook de. 1 cost RM 12. damn expensive and damn cruel and discusting de.

At 3rd of July Morning, Our flight to SZ is in the morning 9.55a.m. So we are at airport very early for check in and den went out nearby to eating breakfast. While waiting for our flight to arrive, we went around and bought KK ais cream and also Sabah Coffee for my auntie there de. The flight took around 3 hours plus. And Finally we reach SZ. Omg the airplane park so far that we have to use bus go to the immigration de. Very funny is the whole of airplane passenger eventually waiting for me and my brother gf, Evelin as we are using the airplane toilet de. haha.. Well luckily we use de cos on the way to the toilet in the immegration is way too long de. Plus only 1 male and 1 female toilet in the airport. Haha they had been waiting for such a long time for their turn de.

Once arrive, my auntie and her daughter took us and we use taxi to go her place. It cost RMB 100 plus to go from airport to there de. Once we reach, first thing first We went to greet my uncle and we went for a tea time de. After that we went around for a while until at night dinner den after dinner we went for my first foot message. I thought very scary but by force of my parnets and my auntie, i went and is okay. Den went back and they bual-bual until almost 3am de.

2nd day, before we leave the house, we have some packing as we are going to Hk de. About almost 10a.m., we went for breakfast and den use mtr to the immigration. Omg they are so good de. Just like to Miri and brunei. As near as that only de. We reach Hk use mtr to Mongkok and walk one big round to find our hotel. Our hotel are not bad de. So mostly when u c me online in fb writting post is every morning, I went to lobby to online de. Since it is a bit late already, we manage to go Women street and my auntie went back SZ de. We walk and shop. Until tired stop by and rest. Den walk again de. And had our dinner at around 11p.m. and went back hotel. Haha just first day, our leg all so pain alr. Until everyday, we all have to use our bath tub put hot water and place our leg in for few minutes de.

3rd day, we went out very early 2day de. At around 8p.m. de. We went for a short breakfast in some small small shop eating a bit of junk de. Den ahead to the station to go Disney land. We spent so much time finding the station cos eventually there is 2 station de. 1 is a bit far but can walk there if know road, 1 is just outside our hotel nearby. So we took the near by but have to transit few places de. reach disney at 10.30a.m. and ahead we start all our games and fun.. Until finish fireworks and I shop for a bit around 11p.m. left disney land and back hotel at 1a.m. All I want to say in disney land, I am so in love with Pooh Pooh and also cute stitch. And not forget the beautiful firework. But 1 thing very regreatful as I took the most scary roller coaster. I hate roller coaster already!! I totally got no idea why those kids, 5-6 years old also not afraid of it!!

On the 4th day, supposely we said we want to go Ocean park but lastly we change our plan to go Ngong Ping as we want to stick with my brother de. We first went for REAL HK DIMSUM and guess what we saw one of the old actor and had a photo. He asked where are we from and we said from Brunei. He said Ooo, Wu Chun place. Really thanks to Wu Chun as least they know where Brunei is. The DImsum restaurant boss and worker so nice de. At first we so afraid but they ask us to take the courage to go talk with the actor. He very nice de.!! Hk people are so nice de.. After Dimsum, we went to pai pai at wong tai sen de. Since it is on the way de. Den shop abit at that place and go to Ngong Ping. Sadly we only manage to go there for 2 hours de cos we went there abit late de. But have big fun. I love cable car!! After done Ngong Ping, we shop again den around 10p.m. to Avenue of star. Walk until almost 12p.m. baru go back Mongkok, hotel.

On the 5th day, So fast 2day is the last day of our day in Hk. We went as usual to Ocean Park butwe feel there so boring de. Dnt go c much de just mange to c some reptiles, pandas, underseafish, not least the dolphin show. and also I played the ferries wheel cos the rest are all in a longque.1 kiddy game i play is the water gun shoot the plate in the water de. The two kids beside mekeep on bully me. I bully back them too. HAHA... Without dinner, we went straight go backmongkok and take our luggage and also buy my Lovely dream Camera!! Around 11p.m. we usebus go to the 24 hr immigration and ahead back to SZ. Once reached, we drop our luggage to myauntie place and den baru go eat our late 1-2a.m. supper de.

On the 6th day, Me, my parents and auntie and uncle and my 2nd auntie, we all went to eat breakfast de den ahead to the Window of world. There we around take photo. cos want to test my new camera but unfortunally the night before i charge didnt charge well. So only took few picture de. We even wait to see the 4d documentary movie. Unfortunally, I sitting in the middle and basically I only watch around 3d movie but my leg touch the front chair and i feel a lift and vibration of the chair de. AFter tat, I went to Skiing and Skating. Skiing not really cos we just go in and play only de. and Super cool there loh. and Skating I play 1 round bye bye cos i dnt know how to play keep on want to drop de. At night, we are there to watch the show and also they keep on drink beer cos is SUMMER, beer festival. I very bored keep on going in and out. 1 regreat is i didnt took the paris shape building consist of 100 floor lift to the top and watch the view.

On the 7th day, 2day abit relax cos they said they want to go sing karaoke de. We went to sing in the afternoon for 4 hours de and den go buy and fix my Itouch -> Iphone and shop a bit den baru go eat dinner and back home. Becaus too late we went out from the karaoke, we didnt manage to buy any food survinor de but we can only buy clothes. On the way back, I visit my brother hotel and suprising he bought a big huge stictch I wanted so much when I was in Hk.We went packing and packing de.

On 8th day, our last day in SZ. Our flight is in the afternoon. After a breakfast, we take luggage. Call taxi and ahead to airport. Since plenty of time, and we see my brother didnt really buy enough food survinor, we use our very last remaining RMB buy all the food de. And suprising our flight to KK, is fill with school kids cos they seem like having summer student exchaneg in UK and transit at Kk i guess.

On 9th day, we reach KK around 5p.m. SInce my uncle and his family had a dinner at that day, we just drop down at centrepoint and shop and dinner there de. Until almost 10p.m. my uncle went back there and took us de. I manage to buy a nike shoes. Haha ppl said oh go Hk should buy cos is cheaper but I buy in Kk cos got discount and is almost the similar price at Hk. of course not as latest one but at least is a real nike shop real nike shoes. And after there, we went tanjung cos i request. I actually want to go take nice picture de. reach back at 11p.m. and went packing and ahead to sleep.

On the 10th day. Our last day of the trip, our flight is so morning at 9p.m. So we reach there very early de. Plus my uncle need to work so we just ask them to drop us back to airport only de. we went around airport, took our breakfast, shop by some kk ice cream and kk coffee back to brunei. We reach Miri at 12p.m. and reach home brunei at 2p.m. everyone start unpacking and went to sleep at 8p.m. it self de.

Damn tired but I love this trip..I love Hk!! Sz is still okay cos 1 thing i dnt like is everyway u go restaurant, or some other place, you sure can see most people smoke de. PArticularly restaurant or cafe fill with most smoker inside de. But It is really Fun. thanks to my EE and her family and also my uncle and family for our stay in their house and good service.

Kuching Trip 2011

Here comes my first holiday trip 21st-25th June Kuching trip. There is really a good time. Eventhough I went there and get sick but I really do enjoy. Seeing all my aunties, uncles, cousins where we used to play last time. Now everyone grow up so big lau but still their faces can be remembered. I went with my parents and my popo and not forgotten my uncle follow us too. The reason for going is of course, to fulfill the promise of popo to go and visit all the relative and also air ticket too cheap. Going and back 1 person only RM 20 include ticket and tax. Once again, I really thanks to my kuku and ku chang for the nice stay in their house. They are so ke qi...

Come back to Miri on 25th June. Another great thing is that, once again i will fly off in less than 1 week time. This time for the very first time after about 10 years plus, we finally had a family trip to Shenzhen - Hongkong transit on KK. I really feel very happy cos we went so far de. Well in my 19 - 20 almost years of life the farest I ever been in only Thailand.

Update of the past 6 months

Well, A really no time no see de. This 6 months since my last update, I was very busy. Holiday meaning busy on holiday, Study meaning busy on study, clubs meaning busy on club, exam meaning busy on exam. So let just have a brief description of my 6 months.

So starting on June.. I guess the first two week is basically my exam week. Exam had go okay cos i dnt expect so much. Those days, other than study study study, I also busying on researching on kuching hotel for my trip later after exam. Days of Days searching searching until the end of the exam, finally i had booked my hotel in kuching. Haiz I so miss those olden time when i was in first year where my exam can just finish on the 3rd/4th day of the exam week. But now I had to suffer from the whole 2 week of exam. So as usual after exam, the next 2 days i will be going back brunei and basically rest and get ready for my excited holiday trip.

IEEE Curtin Sarawak Student Branch Initiation 2011

The new Executive Committee for 2011 of IEEE Curtin Student Branch has been announced in the inauguration ceremony held on the 25th March, 2011. The IEEE Curtin Sarawak Student Chapter is supported by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) United States, the world’s largest professional association for engineering and advanced technologies. Curtin IEEE Student Branch commenced its activities from 2008 as a registered student chapter under the Region 10, Asia Pacific. A new committee was selected by the staff from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and students. In the inauguration ceremony, the new President of IEEE, Mr. Oo Kean Cheng and the Vice President, Mr. Tanvir Ahmed, who is also the General Secretary of AECES, gave a brief presentation about IEEE and also declared the IEEE events for 2011 to the participating students and staffs. The newly selected Secretary, Ms. Thei Sha Thoo, Treasurer Mr. Michel Voon and Vice Secretary Mr. Nanthakumar Rajakumarian were also present at the ceremony. “We want to boost up the activity of IEEE in this year 2011”, said the IEEE president Mr. Oo Kean Cheng in the inauguration ceremony. The Vice president Mr. Tanvir Ahmed said that he will work for IEEE and will combine the IEEE and AECES efforts together for mutual collaboration. AECES is a sister concern of Curtin IEEE Student Branch. Another meeting was arranged by IEEE especially for the engineering students on the April 1, 2011 at the LTCL6 around 4pm. Around 35 students and lecturers participated on this event including Dr. Low Siow Yong, the honorable adviser of Curtin IEEE Student Branch and Dr. Kiing Ing Wong, senior lecturer, ECE Dept. The main purpose of this meeting was to share the information about IEEE with the entire engineering student body as well as with the students from other discipline. A brief presentation was done by the IEEE President, Mr. Kean Cheng in which the IEEE membership’s benefit, upcoming IEEE events and also the process of joining IEEE online was demonstrated. Curtin IEEE Student Branch is actively involved in conducting exclusive events like SmartCar Competition, Robocon Competition, Wireless Hacking Workshop, Open Source Software Expo, and ECE Department Robotics Show since its commencement in 2008. Curtin IEEE Student Branch also runs the Curtin Robotics Club in the Curtin University.

A Visit to the SHELL

Electrical and Computer Engineering students of Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) accompanied by three lecturers visited Shell’s Sarawak Real Time Operations Center (RTOC) in Lutong recently.

The accreditation and industrial relations coordinator of Curtin Sarawak’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Tiong Teck Chai, said such visits are an essential part of the university’s Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Computer Engineering) programme’s curriculum.

“Such field trips to industries in the area not only complement curriculum studies in the classroom, they allow the students to interact with and acquire first-hand knowledge from industry professionals, thus enjoying a most effective and fulfilling learning experience” he said.

According to Tiong, Curtin is a forward-looking, international, research-focused and teaching university committed to excellence and innovation. As Curtin’s largest international campus, Curtin Sarawak reflects those characteristics in every way.

“Besides conducting leading-edge research that ultilise some of the most advanced technologies in the world, we combine theory with practical study and challenge traditional boundaries of learning to create graduates who are professionally competent and job-ready,” Tiong added.

Marconi Sim, RTOC coordinator and Halliburton Eurasia Pacific Real Time Operation regional manager, was on hand to receive the students. He briefed them on how the RTOC is jointly operated by Shell and Halliburton in Miri, the Shell Exploration and Production Asia regional operations being headquartered here.

“The RTOC was set up here to support oil and gas well drilling in Malaysia, the Philippines, China, Australia and New Zealand with real time technology. The centre can significantly improve oil and gas well delivery process in reducing non-productive time and eliminating invisible lost time,” said Sim, who happens to be an alumni of Curtin Sarawak and Curtin University in Perth.

Sim went on to explain that the RTOC provides services like collaborative well planning, predictive modeling, drill string analysis and 24/7 monitoring. Well planning uses 2D and 3D software to provide visualisation on subsurface, drilling data and well trajectories.

The students were most intrigued with how the RTOC facilitates collaboration in well planning and decision-making among engineers, geologists and geophysicists. Drilling engineers and an Advance Drilling Technical (ADT) team then create predictive engineering models prior to drilling events, including torque and drag, hookloads, bottom hole assembly (BHA) and hydraulics management and other means to improve drilling performance.

They also learned that, through remote monitoring drilling operations in real time complemented with 3D capabilities, surface parameter and Measurement While Drilling or Logging While Drilling (MWD/LWD) information, operators at the RTOC are able to react quickly to downhole conditions. The operators can immediately follow the defined communication protocol such as advising rig crews of changes in drilling parameters to

minimise vibration and optimise drilling efficiency.

“The visit was a great experience. Besides learning about the all the latest technology used, we learned about the critical role the RTOC plays in enabling wells to be delivered safely under time and under budget, and hence profitably, to Shell. I also got to know more about job prospects in oil and gas industry,” said student Raguwaran Maniam.

The head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Associate Professor Dr. Ashutosh Kumar Singh, meanwhile remarked that, among other things, such field trips help to form strategic links between academia and industry and his department will continue to find opportunities for similar visits both within and outside Miri.

“It is one thing to learn about the most advanced technologies in the classroom, but it is a whole new experience seeing such technology being used in the real world. We want to give our students that benefit so that when they graduate and start working, they will be well versed with what’s happening in their chosen industries,” he said.

Android’s mobile operating system is based on a modified version of the Linux kernel. Google and other members of the Open Handset Alliance collaborated on Android’s development and release. The Android Open Source Project (AOSP) is tasked with the maintenance and further development of Android. The Android operating system is the world’s best-selling Smartphone platform. The Android open-source software stack consists of Java applications running on a Java-based, object-oriented application framework on top of Java core libraries running on a Dalvik virtual machine featuring JIT compilation. Libraries written in C include the surface manager, Open Core media framework, SQLite relational database management system, OpenGL ES 2.0 3D graphics API, WebKit layout engine, SGL graphics engine, SSL, and Bionic libc. 3 hours and was conducted by 3 prestigious lecturers namely Dr. Ashutosh Kumar Singh, who is an Associate Professor and also the Head of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mr. Terence Tan Peng Lian, who is a Senior Lecturer, and finally Mr. Suresh Reuben, who is an Associate Lecturer of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The workshop was held free of any charge as its main purpose was not to gain profit but to share knowledge and experience to the students so that this may help students in their future career prospects. The workshop received many positive remarks at the end. “This workshop was a good platform for all the students wanting to become good programmers and also for those who want to make some extra money through freelancing”, said one of the senior students attending the workshop. The IEEE and AECES members rendered great support to this workshop. With the collaboration of both, and the number of participants, this workshop proved to be one of the most successful one at Curtin, Sarawak.

After learning its workshop, I really think that Android phone are much better than iphone alot. That is wat my lecturer told us too.So ppl when u want to buy new phone, pls consider android phone like HTC, Samsung instead of very common IPHONE only!!

Sorry for such a long time I didn’t update my blog at all due to my busyness in my studies that I totally forget about my blog. Let me update some about my studies. Well, it was great to say I had ended all my lecture, tutorial, assignment and reports for this semester thus exam will be on starting 6^th June. And Guess what this semester I have a total of 6 papers to sit compared to last semester only 4 papers. So a really disaster for me which this will be the first time, my exam will end in the second wk of exam. And sure there are more chances like this in every semester. This semester really passed so fast. Other than all those stuff stated above, I joined some of the activities like Android Workshop, Site Visits, fundraising, attending ceremony, etc. I am also an official BOD secretary for Curtin Rotaract club for next semester onwards until next year june. So a total serving for 1 whole year. Thanks to our president, Daniel giving a chance for it. Some activities that I went are posted up.I took those from our department articles. The rest of the activities I will post it up once my exam finished which is 15^th of June. so wait patiently okay ^.^

New gadget

Hellloooo... As what I had mention before about my new gadget. Some may not know what gadget am I getting?? A new phone, Iphone or anything?? Well is a new camera. A toy camera. Extremely light without flash and need film. Actually got influenced by my housemate. So since there is a value pack promotion, I get one too loh. So far I havent use yet as no film but the picture display out is nice because it use the original nature light to take the photo. There is a wide range of colour to choose and I chosen this. Is nice and cute right?? =)

The name of this camera is Superheadz Ultra Wide & Slim Camera (Usagi colourful).
Specification: 100(W) x 58(H) x 26(D)mm with the weight of 75g. The lens is 35mm with shutter speed of 1/125 sec.Since it is slow, so mostly it is used for view only. It can focus 1.2m - infinity

Ms.Carol’s Birthday (29.03)

In every year, I will always text her to wish her a very happy birthday. Who she is?? She is actually my teacher. I know I know is teacher. Ya she is the one who teach me since I am in Form 1 up to Form 5. Let me tell you about our story. She taught me maths and geography in Form 1 and so does she is my class teacher. She is really a friendly and good teacher. Everyone in the class do like her so much. My school also celebrated the 45 anniversary. She choose some of us to do the project together with her to display on the open day itself. So during one of the short school holiday, we spent times together. When it comes to form 2, She is still my maths teacher however she started to get stress and angry easily because she is worrying about us. I remember there is one time, She got so mad with all of us because almost all of them didn’t do their homework as a result, they are all kena stay outside with table and chair. When they are done , then they can come bck to class. Only like 4-5 students in the classroom only include me lah. Hehe... Eventhough she is mad, still she is caring to ask them move their desk and chair to go out. Only starting Form 2 when I finally got a temporary mobile phone to use, I started to get close with her. If not mistaken, in form 2 there is also a maths treasure hunt to celebrate the maths month. That year, we all went to OGDC. In our class, we had a total group of 10 with 3 people in each group. Of course our class is her who incharge. Until almost the end, we have our group discussion with few of my close group friends. She is also there. It is a really fun day.

In form 3 time, sadly to say she didn’t teach us again however, almost the middle of the year, I went to the tuition which is 3 subject cos 120 with the subject of Maths, Science and English. Here again she comes become my maths tuition teacher. After sitting for my PMB result, since it is a holiday i joined my school first concert choir. So basically every day morning, I fetch her and we go the hall together. Not mistaken, during the last day of school meaning the report day, i went back to school and give her a very very long Christmas card. FORM 4 hateful to say again all the science subject have been given to our brother’s school teacher to teach. Since our school is just next to each other, in morning they (teachers and boy students) will walk here to my school but in afternoon during extra-classes is our time to walk back to their school because they had alternating batch teaching. It means that for my school teacher is the batch before us. They will teach form 4 followed up by form 5 then a new batch starting over again from form 4 to 5. SO we are totally unlucky. But I am having fun in terms of the 4- 5 of us girls students only in science class and walking around mixing with guy classmates. Basically if we kena the batch teach my school teachers, she will automatically become my physics teacher again. Since my form 4 science teachers are not good so I went for physics tuition with her. She is my physics one-to-one physics teacher. Well, even though she is not much teaching me, but I and she are also as close. I even organise a surprise birthday party for her. It is a kind of fun. I took some picture but I LOST them. DAMN it!!

Happily to say that my brother school kena close down. Thus, our teachers all have been changed back to my own school teacher and yeah she is teaching me. In a small class of 8 people is really fun when we went for studying together. My tuition group also got bigger because my classmates joined us. It is a big regreat to tell that, for every exam I didn’t pass my physics paper except the last final exam. But still I am study hard and I got an A the one and only for physics. I am so happy so does she. She even gives me a handmade bracelet and even help me to wear. OOOOooo.. and also a good luck charm to me before sitting for exam and I am still using it. I had graduated in that school so we will basically meet lesser plus she is moving up to another school in Bandar. From time to time, we will call each other out for a chit chat and every twice a year we meet until now. Greet each other and give birthday present if it is our birthday. I do appreciate that she teach me alot and so becoming my teacher. I know now is sound like best friend more than teacher. But anything it is, we will always keep in touch.

To end tis long long story, Happy birthday to you my dear teacher. I dunno will you see my blog and this post, i also want to say a very very thank you for all the things you taugh me and being part of my life. Thank you. May god bless you always. Stay healthy and happy alway!! =) Miss you ~

A weekend in Brunei

Well, since the previous site visit is on Saturday, so I didn’t went back home. So I make myself a decision to go back once every two weeks. It’s time to be self dependent lah. Therefore, week 4 Thursday I went back home. As usual my parents come down to take me back home. And you know just the 2 weeks I am not at home, I didn’t know anything happen in Brunei. I am totally lost in detail especially on my relative. Such as my cousin, Jr went to KL already on that Wednesday which I don’t know also. So I thought he went there himself. Who noes, his parents followed also. My mom got things to ask my auntie. So she asked me to call. I said her brunei no keh?? Then she say no lah call Malaysia no. Lah. I was like what?? Who know so much things when I am not in brunei?? She keep saying y I say want to call her brunei no. Iya I know I am out of dated lah!! Okay went back brunei, as usual lah my jingle boy got excited when see me. Basically that weekend I needed nothing eventhough on Wednesday itself I have a exam and tutorial but still not doing anything. So what i do so busy?? I am folding the (dead ppl money) for Ching Ming festival. As they decided to go about 1 wk plus early. No my mom gt no preparation at all. So on Sunday morning 6a.m. wake up and get ready to go ching ming. Eventhough it is hot and tiring but it is a tradition and elders to respect at. Thus, every year i went with my parents. However, a regreat that I haven’t pray for my great grandma for a long time. Around 5 years. Still this year I can’t attend however I will try my best to go and pray for them every year.

Miri Airport Site visit 19/3/2011

So we went to eat first then to campus as it is only leaving at 9am. SO we manage to reach campus at 8.45a.m. but surprising that there is no one in campus. I mean no one in the bus stop waiting to go for the site visit. Thus, we got totally scared that we missed the bus as when we came into the campus on the way; we saw few public buses went out. We straight went to the ICT lab to check email to double check and confirm about the timing. Well, is around 8.55a.m., it is still no people. Around that time, my friend Mian Mian arrived. She felt the same thing that she missed the bus too. Cos at that time, we totally dnt have each other contact no. Thus is hard to find or ask her. Slowly time passed, it is 8.10a.m. finally the lecturer is here but there is only the 4 of us only. So my lecturer actually called one by one ppl. Slowly about 5 people came and we went off to Villa. Well about another 5-6 people is waiting at villa bus stop too. So we started the journey to Miri Airport around 9.25a.m. Basically there is 13 students accompanied by 7 lecturers. WAU... is it a site visit for the lecturers or students?? =)

We reach Miri Airport around 10.15a.m. and we went to the waiting place, standing there and waiting for the person in charge to come. We are there standing around 10-15 minutes. Well, we all totally look like a group of student having to fly somewhere. It is a kind of fun when people looked as us. First of all, they bring us for a briefing on the Malaysia Airport in Miri. Then he bought us to Approach Radar Control Room. He also show us how the air traffic controllers at Miri Airport, from the vantage point of their control tower and use of approach radar, monitor aircraft movements on various flight routes operated by Malaysia Airlines, MASWings, Air Asia, Hornbill Skyways and others, and provide information to pilots by radio communication..

It is followed by going up to the Control Tower. Eventhough the tower is only 6 floors high but damn the view is super nice. At there, they tell us how various navigational aids like the VHF omni-directional radio range system, distance measuring equipment, beacons and instrument landing system aid in controlling aircraft landing and take-off, as well as how emergency situations and rescue operations are handled. Well unfortunaly, when it is our turn to go up, it isn’t a busy time and we are unable to see the airplane landing infact we only saw some offshore helicopters come and land. The most wonderful thing is that they can actually spot the helicopter with the eyes when the helicopter is just as small as a very very tiny dot. We all took so long to actually c where the helicopter is. It is a kind of funny there.

Next and finally, they bring us to the departure hall which we all are needed to scan our bag when entering. They also bring us to the pathway where it is connected with the airplane when they departed. They also test it and we were actually in the pathway moving. =) So we left at exactly 1p.m. reaching campus at 1.30p.m.

When we reached to Villa, our lecturer stopped us. He said we will have a lunch then they will send us back. We are like wau true or not oh. Then we went to the cafe. Surprising there is a wedding going on there and the table available is only 4. No lah, the people really decorate like we went for a wedding. The table is covered with red table cloth and our cup is actually the one we used to drink wine. Unfortunally is not lah. Just a buffet lunch in campus. Overall, it is really a nice place. I can;t wait to go holiday in the semester break =)

The 3 weeks of semester 1 2011

On Monday of first week, went to campus with my friends. I am waiting outside for classroom. SO actually there I saw all my classmates which some I know them and some looks kenal only. Well, first class around 20 student and slowly 2^nd class 10 students. OMG so less students and about half of them are my seniors meaning they are year 2 sem 2 student but taking sem1 unit as the unit is only offer once a year. The very first week I am mostly with my housemate and previous classmates cos I didn’t know much about my new classmates. So in class, I am very silent sitting alone one. But by the end of 1^st week, due to one of my unit lab needed a grouping so Chua asked me to join with him. Well, we know each other a kind of familiar just tak beberapa kenal only. Soon in wk 2 and 3 and the rest of the week, he will be taking me to and off campus since he had a car and he don’t mind. He also took one of my friend Kiat same lab group. Thus the 2 lab, we 3 will be on the same group and going and off campus together and also sometimes lunch together. Don’t think wrongly is just a friends and a classmates do!! Helping each other out. Slowly, I started to be close with Christina, my another classmate but through fb chatting or msn only. Once in reality, we don’t really talk. She is really a very helpful person. Same, because of the one hour, Mian Mian is following me during the class break we are close again. SO basically in a class, there is only about 10 people of the same batch and only 3 of us are girls, 3 are Chinese guys and the rest are from international student.

Class so far is really hard. Why I said that?? I am taking 6 units include moral study. So far Maths 277 omg so hard as in got no idea what is it about. In one question had to find out answer, we had to go through around 7 tests before we can get it. OMG tat is hard as we had to know what ques can use what test. Well, so far that unit final marks for everyone in the semester is less than 70 marks meaning highest mark recorded in curtin is 70 marks without applying the condition of must had 33/100 in final exam inorder to pass the unit. PT (probability theory) is okay. The lecturer is so steady cos my EM(Electromagnetic) lecturer is the same one. AT list this is a kind of easy unit compared with the rest. And my tutor is really a very good tutor. But when it comes to EM, I totally cannot understand a single things. He can finish 2 lecture with about 50+ slides in one lecture within 2 hours. Pandai right. Well, sitting infront also dunno what he said at all. Sound soft but talk like nothing. But first time lecture of EM is the HOD teaching us cos at tat time, they havnt found a suitable lecturer for us. Eventhough he teach very boring but still more understandable than him. OMG first class first word the HOD lecturer said to us “I didn’t know or recognise anyone of you here except you(me). I think I saw u someway!” I was like OMG it is so dangerous leh because he know me. Actually during the last yr end going for enrolment, there is some problem regards to the unit offer and so he want to c me. I want to c him so many at that time loh. Next FDD(Foundation of Digital Design) so far i understand the most out of the all the units. He is actually my previous lecturer brother. During devapali, he invited me to his place and so at that time, he know me already. So is really a dangerous unit as he knows me well. So I really study tis unit and understand it well cos He is sure a very good lecturer. Lastly EC (Electrical Ciruit). Our first lecturer is only 30 min as due to class clashes. But only 3 wk we started to have tutorial and lab. He is a new lecturer i guess because it is obvious that the first lecture, he always c on up and talking always erm.. erm.. but what he teach is okay lah but alot of improvement on his teaching is needed. But do you know what the nicest thing when taking tis major is?? Well, we are all offer for a site visit. Don’t say it is compulsory but is up to us whether we want or not to join. First of all, there is a site visit on the 19 March week 3 to Miri Airport and also another on 2 April week 5 to ShELL. So what can i say?? Of course I am joining all of them =) Hope there is more coming. Once two week a site visit =)

My new house in Miri

Well, as what I had said before that, I am moving out of Curtin Village to a house where the housemates are all my friends. They are Vaash , Gen-gen and Jona. Erm so far although the house is so far from Curtin Villa bus stop and I need to walk around 5 min to the bus stop, but is still okay. Why?? Cos at least we all had our personal toilet and mostly I don’t need to walk. Reason later... So since 28 february is the start of our new semester, I went down on 27 itself. I reach my new home at around 12 something. Do some cleanup. But clean up is mostly my parents do. At first my room furniture is totally so fix until the room totally looks so pack once i added my additional small cupboard in. Now I had totally moved my furniture so the room just look nice. I do like my room with the view (luckily the new house got no ppl stay yet) and the house. It just that I more miss my Curtin Village room’s view. That is super duper nice lah!! The worst thing is that there is no streamyx in the house at all. So no internet. Damn... and also no security so must always be careful in the house if alone. That all first cos i really dnt know what else to say =)

The start on year 2 or 3 semesters

The start of a new semester will start soon and is really a new start for me. WhY?? 2^nd year is the beginning of a student engineer’s hard life. And also I had no buddy I knew in this class. So guess I have to go mix with new people again cos this new people are what I need to be hanging out in the rest of the uni life. For someone like me, didn’t really mix around is really hard but I hope I can. On the other hand, to all my friends out in Curtin even though we are no more in the same class as classmates but do remember me always and keep in touch. I really don’t want to lose such a good friends. All of you had helped me alot in the previous semester and a start of university life... Do really takecare my friends =)

Boringness / recommeded

What had I doing previously?? Since there is no new series to watch, I started to watch youtube 1 litres of tear. Slowly from movie to series and special part and is really nice. Those didn’t see must watch. It is a real Japanese movie/series based on a girl about the age of 15 years old suffering from a terminal disease and how she had to face with the slowly day by day the disease get worse. I am sure you will cry in every episode nonstop just like the title. Then I watch back Mysteries of Love and also Fa gin si fong 2. Still nice even though 2^nd time watching.

Because it is a Thursday and also my dad is working in Bandar, thus we didn’t manage to go Miri to eat with my grandparents. However we are invited to go my E.Po house for a makan. We start our journey at 7p.m. reach KB but still are the first one to arrive. We wait until around 8.20p.m. then we eat. After eating, some watch tv, some playing fireworks behind the house/at the garden, some cleaning the table and dishes and some start to drink a bit of red wines. We left at around 11p.m. and that is the end of CNY. I did enjoy a bit but didn’t in some cases. Herm...

Hang-out on public holiday

On 15^th February a public holiday, Mag drop by and call upon to go jalan-jalan and eat excapade in KB. She and her sister drop by at around 1.30p.m. and take me. Then we go take teo since one of my friends didn’t follow. Ahead to KB and went to take Mira. On the way, we keep on struggling where to eat Japanese foods. Either Excapade Sushi or Musato Sushi. First we went to musato Sushi but is not open so at last we went to Excapade in KB. We waited for around 1hour - 1hour 30 min but food still not here yet. So slow lah they do stuff. We keep telling them still so slow. Some time, I saw Rachael and her family come. I say Hi and off don’t know where she disappear too. Because it is quite late due to the waiting, we straight sent mira back and went back home. Even though is just a short well, is fun to be sitting down together and chit-chatting. Herm hopefully there is some more hang out coming lah.

I though they are talking a joke but who knows is true. What?? My auntie call up few couple to go her place for a celebration. I actually didn’t want to go cos I macam a light bulb but forces to. Wau my auntie really decorate like a 5 stars candle light restaurant. And there is small table at the side for the 2 light bulbs me and my cousin. Hehe... Guys had their lamb chop while ladies had chicken chop while little kid had fish and chips. They slowly drink wine until everyone brings one wine finish lau so total about 7 botol of different types. After dinner, they had a long chit-chat and what I do?? My cousin went to sleep very early so I watch TV, hear their chit-chat, play itouch, online using computer and etc. So damn bored. But my biggest achievement of the day is I learn how to use Camera DSL. Damn nice lah.. I want to buy one. Even though i don’t really know how to use and still learning but really a fun gadget. We reach home at 1a.m.

Well seem to be another year without partner and a 18^th time celebrating with parents. When will my white prince appear in front of me?? There is sure a day =)

My first long distance driving...

On 11^th of February, is time to bring Jingle up for vaccine. But however my brother is sick. So in the afternoon , we bath Jingle and take our bath. Around 3.30p.m. we start the journey to Bandar. I wanted to reject but my brother force me too =(. So firstly went to Seria Oil Station masuk minyak baru going to Bandar. It is really a long long journey. At first, I totally not used to it. Brake press very fast so got effect and staring pusing too over kena complain and drive like 60KM/H. But slowly okay already slowly increase 80KM/H and den 100KM/H when cutting car. But on around Bandar, due to the unbalanced road and cut the road with speed up, the car goes crazy. The staring is not hold tight so I had to break immediately. Overall in that 1 and a half hours journey, really hard and now I know why people are very tired to drive the way even though using an auto car. Jingle got so scared once we put him at the pet table don’t dare to move at all. After injection, he even go pee infront of the counter. Idoi!! After that we went back home. On the way, Jingle vomited. Euuurr... So we stop by Tutong Hua Ho for a cleanup and borrow the toilet. There is a malay family show the dog and keep saying eee is so cute. Even on that time, there is chung ching students went to there. They saw the dog in the car and say “hey look so cute!! =D

Today we had to eat lau sen because is everyone’s birthday according to tradition. SO we went to Excapade Sushi and eat at night. In the same time, we saw my mom’s boss is there. So we had some greeting and ahead to our place and call yu sheng. Unfortunally forget to take my camera. Haiz sayang. Finish eating at 9p.m. and I follow my brother go back home as my parents went to my E.Po (father side E.E/auntie) house pai nian.

But before than I went to SMSA to take my long 2 years leaving certificate and testimonial. I went at 10a.m. and come out at 10.45a.m. With madness. Eeerh damn mad. Why they do things like that one oh?? Government give them money for what one oh?? They just sit and wait for month end salary without doing anything. Every time I go there really make me so angry until really don’t know the reason why I had study in that school before. Well school is not bad just the way they do things is so damn it lah!!Especially that particular room/office, When are they going to change such a behaviour?? That government school so rich still earn so much money from the pr or foreigners like me but in return gives us nothing. Totally wasting my time loh.

I went down to Miri and first thing, stop by at curtin to take the refund cheque. But unfortunally it is banked in straight. So go tukar money baru go grandma place tell her about the money. In return she give me cash and so we went to the town Maybank to bank in and create account. But due to too many people, we decide to go the grand palace maybank. Very fast not need to fill in form. However the ATM Cards in KL got problem so cannot apply. Then we went second round to make IC. I don’t want to make but dad want to since only need to wait for 10 people. When about my turn, the system breaks down. Damn lah wasting my 1 hour there waiting only. After that, we went to buy some dog stuff and order DVD baru balik my grandma house. Went home around 9p.m. not in a jam luckily.

4th day of CNY – The year of Rabbit

2day at around 9a.m., my big cousin called asking to go for open house at 12p.m. later. So after breakfast, we actually want to go lau but suddenly received my auntie call saying that “I am already at outside your house”. So we drop back home and they stay to eat eat and play my Jingle boy. A request by my parents, to let jingle wear baju. He so playful let him wear baju so susah loh. Once come out, my auntie start taking the camera DSL out and take Jingle photo. But Jingle keep on barking my little cousin cos she is afraid but still want to play with him. Around 12p.m. my parents follow my uncle and auntie drop by at Ah Moi E.E house. They say sekejap sahaja but who noes until around 4p.m. making me so mad don’t want to go lau. After the dinner, some went to friends house pai nian while some watching movie,etc. Around 10p.m. we actually watch a show by 2 -3 people taking drunk language and soon muntah. Haiz minum minum lah what use to drink so much until sendiri so susah?? Until lastly my dad had to bring them back home to sungai liang, my other E.E place. There, they started to talk about the drankness and also the dangerous of the drinking. What I do?? I curi one of their fireworks (Kids play one) and play. Since there also do business on mixing the chicken and let the egg hage. I took some picture down. Around 11p.m. we went back home.
